Thinking About moveing to Hawaii, would like recommendations, and advice.?

Myself and my Family desire to move to Honolulu, Hawaii in the next 2 yrs. We would like to know how much we would need to spend on an average apartment and utilities?. Also how often do earthqakes hit Oahu, and do they affect the lifestyle or do the Earthquakes happen in a minimal amount?.

I would also like to know how the University of Honolulu is like and do they offer careers in music. Also i would like to mention that it would be fine for me to work over time. Again, i would like to know how is the lifestyle to live in Hawaii. Thank you.Thinking About moveing to Hawaii, would like recommendations, and advice.?
It is very expensive. Property, utilities and food. I believe you have to already have employment before moving (they don't need anymore beach bums.) Quakes are more on the big island (Hawaii) not Oahu. Depending on where your job is, living expenses are lower away from Honolulu. UH is supposed to be a pretty good school. I am sure you can find degrees offered on their website. Aloha!Thinking About moveing to Hawaii, would like recommendations, and advice.?
Rent on an apartment will run you anywhere between $1,400-$2,300 per month (depending on what location %26amp; how many bedrooms) not including utilities %26amp; depending on how many people are in the household. The more people, the more expensive it will be. O'ahu had an earthquake October 2006 early in the morning, that earthquake shut down the entire island of O'ahu electricity. It took 14 hours to restore it in Honolulu, a little longer for other areas. No one knows how often an earthquake hits, usually can't predict that. I don't know nothing about University of Honolulu (never attended it) but overall, Hawaii does NOT offer much of any career, not much of any opportunites on this island period. Locals work 2-3 jobs just to pay their rent %26amp; they usually work in the tourism. Depending on your preference how the lifestyle in Hawaii is %26amp; how well you can adapt to such as culture. Most people from the Mainland come to live here temporarily, they either end up hating it or end up loving it. It depends on you. You will either dread it or cherish it. Just know that living here ain't nothing like taking a vacation.
I have not heard of any earthquakes hitting the island of Oahu, but you will get tremors from other islands. I believe it is very minimal damage if any. Maybe the loss of electricity, but I believe that is all that the island of Oahu has ever suffered from earthquakes. Hope this helps you!
City is fine, any place out side city, you may have trouble with language, convenience and adjusting to their culture. Hawaii is pretty much owned by Japanese, and the Native Islanders. It would be helpful if you learned Japanese language and their customs. In any case people are very polite, peaceful, helpful over here. I love it and do not miss the Main Land of USA.
