Advice about benefits?

Things aren't going too well for us at the moment, so I'm thinking of the worst case scenario. If it came to be that we have no income but still own our house, (I have a house that I bought to rent out so it only has a small mortgage) cheaper than any rent we'd end up paying anyway. Would we still be entitled to any money to live on when we own the house, and do they help out with the mortgage? Advice about benefits?
The government has just announced that people are now protected up to a house value of 拢200,000 instead of the old 拢100,000 on mortgage repayments, if you did claim for benefit you should expect to receive around 拢60.50 (assuming you're over 24) housing benefit (whatever your mortgage is) and perhaps even the council tax benefit also. Wishing you lots of luck with whatever the future may bring, hope that I've been able to help you somewhat.

Thank you and take care :)Advice about benefits?
Some companies have great benefits if they lay you off.

For example if you worked there for 10 years you would receive 2 to 3 weeks pay for every year you worked there. Plus they extend your medical benefits for 6 to 12 months (you don't even pay the premium).

Once that goes away unemployment benefits can be up to $430 / week depending on how much you made.

Companies and unemployment do not pay mortgage payments.

If you are in the UK, the very best place to find out about this is your local Citizens Advice Bureau They are brilliant (they've helped us no end when we've hit a brick wall in the past) and will help you work out what Benefits you are entitled to. Good luck.
